The Church of God in Hanahan is a small, family‑friendly congregation where you and your loved ones can truly feel at home. We may be small in number, but our desire to serve the Lord, love His people, and grow in His Word is strong. There is room here — room to grow, room to serve, and room for God to use you in meaningful ways.
Our calling is simple and deeply rooted in Scripture: to reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip the saints to live as the Church every day — in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities. We believe the Christian life is not confined to a building; it is lived out wherever God places us, as His Spirit empowers us to shine His light.
We walk in the light of God’s Word to the best of our knowledge and ability. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the operation of spiritual gifts within the Body, trusting the Spirit to strengthen and guide us. We honor the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship, remembering that Jesus Christ Himself is our true rest.

The Church of God is grounded in a rich tradition of New Testament teaching and experience. Our modern story traces its way from the Protestant Reformation, through the Methodist Revival, and into the great spiritual awakening of the Pentecostal Revival. Since our humble beginnings in 1903, The Church of God has remained committed to renewing authentic New Testament Christianity and restoring the Bible church—a people devoted to truth, love, and Spirit‑empowered living.
That same commitment has shaped the Church of God here in Hanahan. Since the late 1950s, this congregation has stood as a steady light for Jesus Christ in our community. For generations, we have worshiped together, served our neighbors, and shared the hope of the gospel with families throughout Hanahan and the surrounding areas. This church has been a place of refuge, fellowship, and spiritual growth for countless individuals—and it continues to be a vital part of the community we proudly call home.
Over the decades, many good people and ministries have found their start within these walls. Pastors, evangelists, teachers, musicians, and faithful servants of Christ have grown here, been nurtured here, and gone on to do great things for the Lord.
